Community Resources

Service Projects
OhioHealth - Hand-sewn Masks
  • Hand-sewn fabric masks are being put to good use at OhioHealth! They have started providing hand-sewn masks to patients in their outpatient oncology locations.  Even with donations they have currently received, they are in need of more hand-sewn masks so that the can provide them to additional patients with compromised immune systems if they don't bring masks of their own.
  • They will accept all designs, as long as you use 70/30 cotton blend, or cotton fabric.  Mask ties should be made with fabric or elastic (no ribbons, please).
  • Find more information on locations and accepted donations here

Ballot Box

Stand up and be counted! With supplies to make posters, buttons, and sidewalk displays, you'll vote yes for a GSOH Ballot Box! Learn about voting rights for women, how Girl Scouts were supporting suffrage in the early 20th century and what YOU can do to make a difference at Ohio's Heartland. The box will include a mail-in ballot for what you'd like to see happening in the Girl Scout Movement and supplies to support and celebrate causes in your community that matter to YOU! This GSOH Ballot Box is valued at $20, Thanks to The Women's Fund of Central Ohio, we are able to keep the cost of this box minimal to support girls as they learn about the importance of voting and civic engagement. Shipping included.

Community Quest

Welcome to the Community Quest program! Get ready to explore towns around Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council with these fun scavenger hunts. Each quest is an adventure to discover the unique places, people and things that make up a community or county. You can do each hunt with your family, your troop or just a favorite adult. The quests are designed to allow participants to investigate new places while practicing social distancing. At each stop, you are encouraged to take a photo of all or part of your group. After you complete your quest, pick out some of your favorite photos and share them with us at http://bit/ly/GSOHstories

A Community Quest patch will be available in the GSOH Council Shops to help you commemorate the fun. Contact girlscoutshop@gsoh.org to place your order. Be sure to check our website periodically as we will be adding new Community Quests with the goal of having at least one for each of our 30 counties. If you would like to help design a quest for your town, contact program@gsoh.org.
