We are so excited to be able to offer programming so our girls and families can get outdoors this summer! Throughout the months of July and August, we will have programming available throughout our council.

Single Day Experiences

  Family Fun Day, a weekday program offered from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Join us for a day at camp with your family! We will offer a variety of your favorite camp activities for all ages, such as hiking, arts and crafts, slingshots, water games, paper rockets and more!

o   Family Fun Weekends, a weekend day program offered from 10 a.m – 3 p.m. or 1 – 6 p.m. Program is similar to Family Fun Day, just held on the weekend.

o   Twilight Camp, an evening program offered from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Join us at camp during the twilight hours. During this program your family can take a twilight hike, tell stories around the campfire, enjoy a s’more, and more!

Multi Day Experiences (Camp Molly Lauman Only)

o   Tall & Small (Friday – Saturday programming): Girls can bring along their special adult for some time together in the outdoors! Bring along mom, dad or an older sister and enjoy an evening and day full of camp fun!

o   Family Camp (Friday – Sunday programming): Bring the whole family to camp for an adventure! Try nature crafts and creek-stomping during the day and enjoy time with your family at night. All families must have at least one registered Girl Scout in grades K – 11.

o   Troop Core Camp (Friday – Sunday programming): Come to camp with your troop! Troops provide the adult supervision for the girls, but we provide the rest – program facilitators, song leaders, activity materials, meals and a whole lot of fun!

FAQs

How will the health of participants be monitored?
  • We ask that all participants take their temperature before they arrive and do not come if they have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher. 
  • Non-contact temperature will be taken for each person attending the program including staff. 
    • Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be sent home. 
  • If anyone starts exhibiting symptoms while at a program, they will be sent home.
What are the social distancing rules?
  • Group sizes and distance between participant groups will follow CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines in place at the time of the event. Participants will be emailed the week prior to the event with the current guidelines we will be following. 
  • Spaces will be clearly marked to encourage participants to keep a safe social distance. 
  • We ask that while at our programs you remain with the group you came with. 
Do I need to wear a mask?
  • We will be emailing registered participants the week prior to their event with the current guidelines we will be following that day/weekend. 
What are the hand washing policies at the program(s)?
  • Where hot water is not available on property there will be hand sanitizer available for hand sanitation.
  • Sanitizing stations will be available at mealtimes and throughout activity stations. 
  • Participants are welcome to bring their own hand sanitizing materials (wipes, etc.)
How often will shared materials and spaces be cleaned/sanitized?
  • All shared materials will be cleaned between each group session throughout the day. 
  • Spaces will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each program. 
How will eating/mealtimes be handled?
  • All snack options will either be individually wrapped, or the staff member preparing/distributing snack will be wearing gloves and a mask.
  • Single Day Programs
    • Each participant will be required to provide their own lunch.
    • Designated lunch spaces will be available so groups can maintain social distancing while eating.
  • Multi-day programs at Camp Molly Lauman
    • Groups will be assigned a table for the duration of the program.  This table will be cleaned and sanitized after each meal. 
    • Adjustments will be made to the meal serving style to meet CDC and local health department regulations.

Girl Scouts Love the Outside Patch

Beginning this May, take the national Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge! Check out the activities below and choose the ones you want to do to earn yourself a cool new patch. Summer is the perfect time to celebrate our love of the outdoors. While safely socially distancing, explore the outdoors from your window, front step, laptop or the wide open trail! Use #gsoutdoors to share your story and to see how other girls are completing this fun outdoor challenge!

The Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge kicks off in May and ends with Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend on September 12 and 13, 2020. Based on your grade level, complete the required number of activities to earn a snazzy new patch.
