Camp Descriptions

Camp Beckoning Trails

Camp Beckoning Trails is located in the beautiful Hocking Hills region and includes 108 acres of hilly, forested land filled with streams, a pond, and a panoramic view of the Hocking River valley and countryside. This beautiful property also features labeled hiking trails and small American Indian mounds..

Marlie Lodge sits in an open area on top of a hill perfect for viewing the night sky or for wintertime sledding. Other facilities include a primitive camp area, a large shelter house and an amphitheater. Nearby attractions include Hocking Hills State Park, Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave.

Camp Cornish

Camp Cornish is almost 15 acres of woods with a hill and a meandering creek. Discover nature while exploring the Kokosing Gap, Heart of Ohio or Mohican Valley Bike/Hike trails. These trails combine to provide 30 miles of bicycling or hiking throughout the area. The 370 foot-long Bridge of Dreams is the longest covered trail bridge in the state of Ohio and can be found on the Mohican Valley Trail. Campers can also use this as a base camp for visiting Ohio’s Amish Country, the Brown Family Environmental Center and Kenyon College.

Camp Cornish is home to Cornish Lodge, a log cabin structure with a great room, residential-style-kitchen, restrooms, loft, and large fireplace. The lodge sits on the highest point of the property and overlooks the main fire circle and creek. Most of the camp is wooded and additional structures include a small picnic shelter and a primitive camping area.

Though no longer owned by Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland, Camp Cornish is available for Girl Scout use 35 days per year. To reserve one of these dates, please click here.

Camp Cornish can be utilized on other dates by contacting the Camp Cornish Foundation.

Camp Crooked Lane

Camp Crooked Lane is located on 226 acres of forested land in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, a short drive from Columbus, Newark and Mansfield. The on-site pond allows for fishing and canoeing, while labeled hiking trails help visitors find their way through the grounds. Facilities include Wawinges Lodge, a platform tent unit with a shelter house, two pavilions and an amphitheater. Crooked Lane also features a low-ropes challenge course and asSprayground, which is open to camping troops and program participants between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Thanks to the generosity of many supporters, GSOH opened the brand new Winniker Lodge in spring 2016. This new troop house gives Camp Crooked Lane the ability to serve more girls. With a sleeping capacity of 22, a meeting space, kitchen, fireplace and a deck with beautiful views overlooking the pond, girls and adult volunteers now have another great spot to spend time having fun together.

Camp Ken-Jockety

Camp Ken-Jockety sits on 220 wooded acres full of wildlife and beautiful wildflowers near the Big Darby Creek, a scenic state and national river. Camp Ken-Jockety is also home to many small cabins, lodges and primitive camping sites. Bring your own poles and bait to fish in Becky’s Pond, or register in advance to enjoy seasonal canoeing and archery. Staff-led programs are often hosted at the nearby Elam Environmental Center – learn about nature study, cooking, campfires, flag ceremonies, hiking, crafts, mapping and more!

Camp Molly Lauman

Girl Scouts have been spending their summers at Camp Molly Lauman since 1929! This beautiful site is home to Resident Camp and is located in the rolling foothills of Appalachia, near Lucasville in southern Ohio. Bear Creek runs through the front edge of the mostly wooded property, providing access to Big Bear Lake for canoeing.

Camp Molly Lauman features a modern, air-conditioned dining hall, a 25-meter pool with diving board and overhanging climbing wall, equestrian facilities with indoor and outdoor riding arenas, craft and nature cabins, and a brand-new amphitheater and stage for campfire programs. Spend your nights sleeping in platform tents, cabins or yurts!

Zanesville Service Center

The Zanesville Service Center is located on over nine acres of open and wooded land in Muskingum County, with ample indoor and outdoor space. Though the main building serves as the administrative office for the Zanesville area GSOH staff, this site can also be used by Girl Scout troops and outside groups. Enjoy the beautiful butterfly garden and nature trail, or try the low initiatives course. Your troop or group could also spend time at picnic shelter or fire circle.

The Zanesville Service Center is full of possibilities! Troops or service units may choose to use it for meetings or programs. It can also be used as a base camp location for visiting area attractions such as the Y Bridge, The Wilds or The John and Annie Glenn Historic Site.
