Volunteer Appreciation

A great time to say thank you

At Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, we have an amazing array of helpers, from troop leadership volunteers to girl supporters who help us pull off events like the Tree Tappers Community Festival.

And while we love to celebrate our volunteers all year long, April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. This is the time of the year where we get together to recognize all that they make possible for girls across the 30 Ohio counties that our organization serves.

This April, we’re asking for your help to show our volunteers how much we care and how grateful we are for their time, service, and dedication to making the world a better place for girls.

While there are a thousand ways you can show your appreciation – from a handmade card to a a well-deserved hug – we’ve got three other ways you can say thank you to volunteers who have made a difference in your Girl Scout experience and life.

Four ways you can show appreciation:
Give them a shout out on social.

Your Girl Scout volunteers are the best and you're proud to say it loud and clear: I love my Girl Scout volunteer! Visit our Facebook page beginning April 1 and share why this volunteer (or volunteers) is so special to you. Tag @girlscoutsOH and include the hashtag #GSOHVolunteersRock so we can follow the love.

Want to show your appreciation all month long? Add a Facebook frame to your profile picture! Search for “Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland” and you’ll find three great frames for Volunteer Appreciation Month.

Submit a volunteer to be recognized.

Has a volunteer gone above and beyond to deliver an awesome experience to Girl Scouts? Have they made your life easier in some way? Have they done something small, but impactful, that helped girls unleash their inner G.I.R.L.?

We want to hear about it! Share your volunteer story with us. We’ll be featuring volunteers on social media and this webpage all month long, thanking them for the work they do to support girls.

Send them a personalized ecard

A card is a classic way to say thank you. And, when you send an ecard, you’re showing you care while respecting the environment and saving paper! Show the Girl Scout volunteer in your life – your Girl Scout MVP – just how much they mean to you by choosing from one of four predesigned ecard templates. Just fill in the blank to finish the sentence and share your ecard with them on Facebook, Twitter, or by email! Get started.

Get them a small thank-you gift.

Still want to do more to say thank you to your favorite volunteer? Why not pick them up a small gift at one of our Girl Scout Shops or online? T-shirts, scrunchies, G.I.R.L. gear and more can be a nice way to say thank you to a special volunteer supporting you or a Girl Scout you know.

For Girl Scout Shop hours, please contact Customer Care at customercare@gsoh.org or call 614-487-8101.
