COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to be of growing concern, Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland is regularly monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Controllocal state departments of health, and other partners. 

In compliance with the Ohio Department of Health's stay at home order, our offices are closed through Monday, April 6. Our staff is available via email, phone and other virtual means during this time. 

Specific communications are outlined and continued to be updated below. Our customer care team is available for questions Monday - Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm via phone (614-487-8101) or email (customercare@gsoh.org). 

Offices & Council Support
  • Offices/Service Centers – All council service centers and offices will be closed to the public effective, Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, April 6. Our staff will be available to support you by phone, email or virtual means.
  • Retail Shops –All council shops will be closed through Monday, April 6. Our shop staff will be able to process and ship any orders while our offices are closed. Please email them to place an order along with a phone number to reach you for payment details.  
  • Customer Care - The Customer Care Team will be available for support to volunteers, girls and parents 8:30 am to 7:00 pm until Thursday, March 19.  Beginning Friday, March 20 our hours will be 8:30 am -4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Girl Scout Activities & Events
  • All in-person events, activities, trainings and mobile programming is cancelled through Monday April 6.
  • All facility rentals are cancelled through April 6.
  • Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland will be issuing refunds for trainings, activities and facility rentals in the coming weeks. If you have specific questions about a refund, please reach out to our Customer Care team.
  • All service units and troops should suspend all in-person gatherings, meeting and event through April 6.  
  • All events after April 6 will be updated in the following weeks, please look for future communications regarding cancellations and postponements.
Cookie Program
  • Effective Tuesday, March 17, we will be closing Girl Scout Cookie Program.
  • All troops with unsold inventory in eBudde as of March 16 will be contacted by the Product team to support them wrapping up their 2020 Cookie Program without financial liability.
  • If troops wish to extend their program, our Product Program Team will work with them directly.
  • Cookie Program Volunteers should refer to their eBudde emails for specific guidance on payment dates. 

All of these changes do not mean that Girl Scouting stops. We encourage you to use webinars, teleconferences and other technologies to engage girls and adults. We also look to support you through virtual opportunities. Girl Scouts of the USA has also produced a terrific resource, How to Talk with your Kids About Coronavirus,  to help us support our girls during this time

The health and safety of our entire Girl Scout family is so important to us. We will continue to update you regarding critical information and further impacts to Girl Scout programming and operations.
