GSOH awarded grant for STEM learning

On June 28, 2018, Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland received an award to fund the Make Zone – a space for girls to explore STEM activities.

The grant will help GSOH build a space for Girl Scouts to visit and create in. They’ll learning about robotics, 3D printing, design, engineering, media and more, and have the chance to create and take part in STEM-related projects there.

Several other organizations received awards to fund STEM learning outside the classroom across Ohio. Learn more about the projects here.

“Great scientific progress relies not just on technical expertise and knowledge but also creativity,” said Lou Von Thaer, President and CEO of Battelle. “The out-of-classroom experiences we support today will foster the next generation of ideas.”
