At Girl Scouts, there is nothing we take more seriously than the safety and well-being of our girls, volunteers, and council staff. In light of the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 Virus, Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland is putting measures in place to address our activities according to the recommendations of the Ohio Department of Health regarding mass gatherings.
With that in mind, we are cancelling all council events and programs through April 5, 2020. Refunds will be issued for any programs or events falling within this time period. Additional correspondence will be sent to you regarding events after April 5, 2020. If you have specific questions regarding your registration, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This cancellation includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- All Girl Scout Trainings
- Council Events
- Service Unit Events
- Service Unit Meetings (replaced with virtual or electronic communication)
- Delegate Forums (replaced with electronic presentation)
- Troop Meetings
Continuing as scheduled:
- Girl Scout Cookie Program
- Council offices remain open
- Girl Scout retail shops
With regards to cookie booths, we recommend that leaders and parents work together in determining the comfort level of their group while also following the guidance of the CDC, Ohio Department of Health, and guidance of your local community and booth location to determine the best course of action. Additional communication regarding troop to troop transfers of cookies will be communicated via eBudde. We are asking that all troops allocate their inventory in eBudde to assist us in making future decisions.
We will continue to monitor official local, state, and federal guidance and are prepared to disseminate new information to our stakeholders as it becomes available for future council events and meetings.
Thank you for your support as we work through this unprecedented public health crisis.
