along with your True North Award and an opportunity at the summer job

where you will work with Girl Scout staff on developing your True
North Award plan, interview with our KJ Day Camp Site-Director to
learn about the summer lifeguarding role and gain valuable
interviewing experience and participate in a 3-day American Red Cross
Lifeguarding course to earn your lifeguarding certification.
Completion of the Red Cross Lifeguarding course is contingent upon
completing course pre-requisites, blended learning online content and
final written and skills test, and fully participating in all three
days of the in-person training. Strong swimming skills are required.
Employment with GSOH as a seasonal lifeguard is not guaranteed. All
participants will earn their True North Award during the course of
this program.
Participants must be 15 or older by June 17, 2026 in order to
participate.
In person lifeguarding course will take place June
17th, 18th from 9-4, and June 19th from 9am to 1pm. The True North
Award in-person class will take place on the 19th from noon to 6pm.
Dinner will be provided on the 19th. Additional self-led course work
will be sent prior to the class (6 to 8 hours or self-led course work
depending on your internet speed and prior lifeguarding experience).
