Maple Madness 2019

Bring the whole family and experience the Camp Ken-Jockety Maple Syrup operation. Go on a hike in our maple grove, help us split some wood, visit the sugarhouse, and enjoy some warm pancakes (for an additional fee)! There is something for kids of all ages, and maple syrup will be on sale. Tickets will be $6 in advance and $8 at the door. This is one of many great maple events.

Maple Chef Jr. LIVE

This event are open to the public

For the first time ever we are holding the Maple Chef, Jr. Competition as its own event. Come learn about our maple syrup program through crafts and games and try out the delicious treats competitors have cooked up for you! Stay and watch as our celebrity judges taste their creations.

Basic Maple Syrup Course

In this new and exciting Girl Scout take action program, we will teach you all about the process of making maple syrup! You will leave with enough knowledge to tap the trees in your own backyard. Once the saps starts flowing, bring it to the experts at Camp Ken-Jockety, who will boit it into delicious maple syrup!

Maple Chef Junior

Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes, are you ready to become Maple Chef Junior? Learn the rules and marketing strategies you'll need to start confecting your delicious creation. RShowcase your dish for the participants of the Maple Syrup Festival. At the end of the festival participate in our judging show with a live audience.

 

 

Tree Tapping Basics

Ever wonder how maple syrup is made?  Learn about the tools used to make syrup and how they've changed over time. If the weather is right, we will tap some of the maple trees at Camp Ken-Jockety! When we're tapped ot, we'll unwind with a cup of hot chocolate and a s'more from Camp Ken-Jockety's famous s'more bar.

Tree Tappers Maple Syrup Festival

Girl Scouts are invited to learn about the history of maple syrup, favorable weather patterns for syrup production, and how technology has advanced since American Indians first tapped maple trees. You'll also get to taste some delicious maple syrup confections! 

 

Maple Syrup Touring

Travel along the Dawes Arboretum maple trail Girl Scouts to discover the various ways to make maple syrup. When you're finished exploring, warm up in the log cabin and sample a delicious maple treat. This activity includes a patch.
