Impact Close to Home
Proceeds from cookie orders directly benefit local councils and troops. The impact is immense, with 100 percent of the net revenue from Girl Scout Cookie sales staying within the community to support year-round troop projects and activities.
With less than 2% of overall philanthropic funding going to organizations focused on girls and women, programs like the Girl Scout Cookie Program can level the playing field, providing opportunities for girls to realize their potential.
From Cookies to Confidence
“The Girl Scout Cookie Program encourages girls to be risk-takers, to think outside the box, and to be confident in their own abilities,” said Tammy Wharton, president and CEO, GSOH. “When Girl Scouts run their own cookie business, they are a part of the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world.”
While earning skill-building badges such as the My First Cookie Business, My Cookie Customer and My Cookie Team badges, girls acquire leadership and entrepreneurial tools needed for brighter futures. As entrepreneurs, they also master the ability to set goals, make decisions, manage money, develop people skills, and learn business ethics.
Girl Scouts in grades K–12 can start their journey to fun, friendship, and new experiences by joining the world's largest entrepreneurial organization for girls at any point in the year. Girls can join, and adults can volunteer at gsoh.org/join.
We're Girl Scouts of the USA
We're 2.5 million strong – more than 1.7 million girls and 750,000 adults who believe in the power of every girl to change the world. Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Ga., she organized the very first Girl Scout troop. Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland is proud to serve our more than 14,000 members in 30 counties across central and southern Ohio by honoring her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
