Work at Camp

Outdoor adventure. Creative expression. Character development. Sense of wonder. These are just some of the amazing experiences that you will facilitate for girls while working at Girl Scout Camp.  Imagine horseback riding, high adventure trips, spa mixology, or transforming into a character based on your favorite fandom. In our woods, girls search for fairies, save endangered dragons, and practice superhero skills, as well as hike, go for horseback rides, and explore elements of our ecosystem. We’re building a team of creative and hard-working individuals to lead the way.

Our camps are rustic – girls sleep in platform tents without electricity and use pit latrines. Living simply provides a chance for campers (and staff) to disconnect, unwind, and focus on building a stronger sense of self, without the distractions of the outside world. We give girls a chance to connect – with new friends, their inner feelings, nature, and inspiring adults. Are you one of their future role models?

If you think this sounds like the perfect summer job, then we want to hear from you! We’re hiring for two locations:

·         Camp Molly Lauman – Resident Camp, Lucasville, OH

·         Camp Ken-Jockety – Day Camp, Galloway, OH

What is the difference between working at day camp verses resident camp?

At Camp Ken-Jockety, staff are activity leaders and groups of girls come to them for their assigned program times. Staff work shifts and are paid by the hour. Staff go home at the end of their shift.

At Camp Molly Lauman, staff live on site. Staff are responsible for the safety of girls, all hours of the day. Staff take daily breaks and get longer breaks on the weekends. Staff at resident camp are paid a weekly salary. Meals are provided.

What is it like to live at Camp Molly Lauman?

Camp Molly Lauman features a modern, air-conditioned dining hall, a pool with climbing wall and diving board, a beautiful vegetable garden, equestrian facilities, and an outdoor movie screen.

Most staff live in rustic 4-person cabins. Some have electricity and some do not. All staff have access to laundry facilities, hot showers, wifi, and electricity for charging their devices on their breaks.

Unit Counselors/Leaders live in separate cabin/tent than their campers, but in a central location where they can monitor everyone. Program staff and cooks live in a staff-only village. Separate lodging is available for male staff.

Staff have 2-hours a day off and have many weekends off as well. Out-of-state and foreign staff often stay at camp to relax on weekends off or go home with local staff members.
