Step up to the GSOH STEM Challenge
Girl Scouts are invited to create a team and compete in the GSOH STEM Challenge! In the morning, Girl Scouts will learn new STEM and trade skills from industry professionals through hands-on instruction. Then, after a delicious lunch, Girl Scouts will be given a community problem to solve using their new and existing STEM skills. GSOH will be providing materials and resources for Girl Scouts to put together a prototype and display that represents their solution. Girl Scouts will be judged on their presentation and awards will be handed out at the end of the day. Do you think you have what it takes to step up to the STEM Challenge?

Location: AEP Foundation STEM Leadership Center
For Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.

2026 Community Problem 
2026 Community Problem: What can you design or create that can help people prepare for, respond to, or recover from natural disasters?
The “solution” to the problem is entirely up to each team—they may choose to build something in our construction lab, design something on a 3D printer, or dream up an idea for a new website or app. The possibilities are endless!
Become a Team Mentor
Are you a STEM professional or student (age 18+) looking for a unique and fun volunteer opportunity?
We're seeking STEM Team Mentors with backgrounds in any field—engineering, coding, construction, chemistry, medicine, research, environmental science, and more.
Team Mentors will:
- Assist teams with brainstorming and implementing their ideas
- Give advice
- Keep the girls on task during the program.
Share your knowledge and skills with a small group of Girl Scouts and be a STEM Role Model!
