The purpose of this patch program is to educate Girl Scouts about the ecological significance of the Big Darby Creek and to participate in activities that encourage the preservation and protection of the creek that is adjacent to the Girl Scout property, Camp Ken-Jockety.

Feed the Heartland - Life Skills toggle arrow

Did you know that according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest household food insecurity report, more than 35 million people in the United States experienced hunger in 2019. That number continues to grow and may include members of your own community, friends and family, or members of your troop. As a Girl Scout, you might be wondering how you can make a difference by supporting hunger relief efforts. Complete this patch program to learn more about food insecurity and how to get involved.

Through Generation Rx, girls learn how to safely store and handle medication. They'll discover ways to properly use medication with the help of an adult, connect with local pharmacists and doctors, and take action to make sure their community is equipped with the knowledge to make good decisions around the use of prescription medicines.

Get ready to participate in our council geocaching and letterboxing programs! Learn how to use a GPS unit in a nearby park and learn how to use a compass and get involved in the adventerous hobby of letterboxing.

Every girl is welcome in Girl Scouts. And every girl can learn what it means to be inclusive! In the Girl Scouts for All Patch Program, Girl Scouts will learn about their sisters, what it means to have differing abilities, and how to include others.

The House that She Built - STEM toggle arrow

Exploring careers in construction is a great way to develop existing skills and discover new ones. Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland wants to empower girls to think about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and construction by meeting real professional women in building. The intent of this patch program is to build self-esteem and develop skills through curiosity and hands-on activities.

We’ve partnered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure to warm hearts in Hope Village. Gather a group of friends or family and get creative making friendship bracelets! The bracelets will be passed out to breast cancer patients and survivors in Hope Village on race day.
